Helpful kid

For a couple days recently, Frances was home sick, but she had plenty of energy.

I was sick, too, with a little less energy than usual.

So, for some unknown reason, I decided to try to organize some of my art supplies, and Frances offered to help sort my crayons by colour.

I thought of declining her offer, but then I remembered that she truly loves sorting (and always has). “If she really wants to,” I thought, “why not?”

I’m glad that I let her do it — she was so enthusiastic and pleased with herself for being very helpful.

She actually organized more than 150 crayons in very short order. I would have gotten halfway through the task at best…

It was definitely a  win-win situation!

I love to write, make art, etc. about my children, 16 and 12. I'm just doing what I like to do, and, if I happen to be raising awareness of high functioning ASD (my 12-year-old daughter has HF ASD), that's great.
