The following are books that I’ve read which address autism, Asperger syndrome [Aspergers], or ASD. They are categorized by audience and I’ve indicated which of the characters in a novel has autism, Aspergers, or ASD.*

*My choice of label is determined by the term used within the book and also sometimes by when the book was published. (In May 2013, upon the publication of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual-Fifth Edition [DSM-V], the term ‘Asperger syndrome’ was no longer used; the term “Autism Spectrum Disorder” replaced autistic disorder, PDD-NOS, and Asperger syndrome.) A book released after May 2013 may use either the older or the newer diagnostic label.
